KNSL
The Kiribati National Shipping Line Limited was registered in April 2018 superseding the previous Kiribati Shipping Services Limited (KSSL). KSSL was established as a State-Owned Enterprise on the 9th July, 1990 under company ordinance 1979 Articles of Association. The forerunner of KSSL was the Kiribati Shipping Corporation (KSC) which was wholly or largely run with subsidies from government from 1978 to 1989.
For 27 years (1990 – 2017) Kiribati Shipping Services Limited was the major shipping company in Kiribati until gradual entry of private shipping companies.
